  • Paradise Meadows Boardwalk

    Paradise Meadows Boardwalk

    $85.00$205.00

“Paradise Meadows Boardwalk” was inspired by a trip to Mount Washington in the spring. It is a mountain ski village where a boardwalk has been built over the fragile vegetation in an area aptly named Paradise Meadows. The easy walk along the boardwalk is serene and relaxing as it meanders over the colorful flowers and passes peaceful ponds. It is also the gateway to the many hiking trails available in Strathcona Park.

    Birds of a Feather: Bushtits

    $85.00$595.00

My friend, Louise Osborne, and I decided to do a series of paintings based on the birds in our backyards. Bushtits are aplenty in the grassy oak meadow where we live, and also in the nearby Chinese cemetery, a National Historic Site.

  • Mason Jar 51 with Indian Paintbrush

Mason Jar 51 with Indian Paintbrush

A work from my Mason Jar series. This series began as a family history project and then moved into food and environmental security. Also called the common red paintbrush, this type grows on the land farmed/ranched by my grandparents. It is more usually found in mountainous areas, like the San Juan Ridge Ecological Reserve, a rare sub-alpine meadow that is part of the epic Kludahk Trail.

Painted on site at Saxe Point Park in Esquimalt. Inspired by the spectacular views of the Olympic Mountains and Strait of Juan de Fuca. The park was created in 1934, and during World War II, many mature Douglas fir and Grand fir trees were cleared and a searchlight was installed as part of shoreline defense.
