    Sea Glass Rainbow

    $85.00$460.00

Some call sea glass “mermaid tears”. There is a legend that says sea glass is created when mermaids cry for the people who have lost their lives in he ocean. As the mermaids’ tears hit the water, they turned into magical pieces of frosted glass. This is another piece from my new Children’s Picture Book: Seaside Treasures.

    Rathtrevor Beach

    $85.00$500.00

Wandering along Rathtrevor Beach in December inspired me to create this piece. The rich golden hues drew me in and I took the liberty of adding some reds and turquoises which I felt were there underneath it all.

    Beach Treasures

    $85.00$460.00

I have spent my life beach combing and have always loved the excitement of finding treasures washed ashore. This art piece inspired my upcoming children’s picture book: Seaside Treasures (A Guidebook for Little Beachcombers). Sea glass is a beautiful artifact that can be found almost everywhere on beaches where the surf has pounded and shaped glass fragments into shapes of art. Vintage bottles, jars, and anything made from glass, thrown away in decades past, are tumbled by the waves of the ocean to form beautiful gems of diverse colours.

    Sunset on the Rocks

Waiting for the light paid off during this sunset at Cox Bay, Tofino. I got the exact shades of orange and blue I was hoping for. Cox Bay borders the Pacific Rim National Park, and its wide open, west-facing beach is a favourite relaxing and surfing spot for locals and visitors alike.

    Fishing Floats

    $85.00$460.00

Thanks to wind and current patterns, big storms bring debris from Japan to the west coast of Vancouver Island. Beach combers feel like they’ve won the lottery if they find one of these Japanese glass fishing floats. Many are over 100 years old!
